Our Small Business Saturday/December offering is here!

“The Night Court” is an enigma of a color. Is it blue? Yes. Is it black? Yep! Is it purple? Yah! I created this deep night colorway back in December 2022 when I was creating the colorway, “Yarn of Flame and Shadow” (based on Sarah J. Maas’s book, House of Flame and Shadow). I needed something super dark and I ended up calling it, “CC Dark.” Fast forward several months, I just couldn’t get that color out of my head so I went back into my dye pots and figured out how to develop it as a deep tonal this summer. I’ve been knitting a sweater with it since August because I wanted to make sure that it wasn’t so dark that my eyeballs wanted to fall out when I worked with it (hello black yarn-I love you but I hate you too). I can happily say that “The Night Court” is lovely and richly dark but it did not cause my eyes to weep from the strain! The Night Court name is inspired by A Court of Mist and Fury, by Sarah J. Maas. If you’d like to read it, and you absoLUTEly should, start with A Court of Thorns and Roses.

“Tale as Old as Time” is so special to me because it was inspired by “Beauty and the Beast.” Funnily enough, I came across this colorway when I was dyeing up our one of a kind, “Local Worsted.” When I pulled the skein out of the dye pot, I immediately started humming, Tale as Old as Time for obvious reasons. This colorway is super tonal and looks fantastic worked up on its own or in a colorwork project. Side note, the reason that Disney’s Beauty and the Beast holds such a special place in my heart is because my little sister was born on the day it came into theaters back in 1991. I remember spending the day at the hospital with my parents and meeting my little Rachele and then my grandparents took me to see the movie that evening. I became a big sister and saw one of the greatest Disney movies ever all in one day! It was a big day for a 5 year old!

Yarn usually ships within 1 week. Dyed to order yarn may take up to 2 weeks.
