Code of Ethics

from $29.00

Code of Ethics is inspired by the latest romantic suspense novel in April White’s Cipher Security series. Code of Ethics, the yarn, features deep reds, light grays, and awesome speckles! Code of Ethics has a very involved dyeing process. To achieve this deep tonal red, I used two different red dyes and a touch of blue. As for the gray, it can be tricky because it’s very easy to go too dark and saturated. So I used the tiniest bit of gray dye powder to get a soft light gray. Then the red and the gray are painted on to each individual skein. This time, I left about a third of the skein white for a dramatic effect. After the base colors set, I lay all of the skeins in the dye pans and sprinkle black and gray speckles all over them. The result is too too too good!

Code of Ethics, the book, is an intelligent, heartfelt story that touches on a lot of issues that Indigenous people, especially Indigenous women, are facing today. Through the end of November,, I will be donating 20% of “Code of Ethics” yarn sales to the National Indigenous Women’s Resource Center. The main mission of the NIWRC is to end violence against Native women. If you are interested in this organization, I welcome you to check out their website.

If you’re interested in Code of Ethics the book, you can find it on amazon here and a description below:

There are three things you need to know about Oliver Curran:
1) He’s a fabulously wealthy playboy who incidentally happens to be a code-writing genius,
2) For maybe the first time in his life, he’s trying to do the right thing, and
3) Someone wants him dead.

Oliver’s life has already been saved once by the gorgeous yet grumpy “close protection specialist” provided by Cipher Security, Dallas Profeit. She calls him uncooperative. He’d prefer to think of himself as unpredictable and stimulating—tomato, tomahto.

But when an assassin gets way too close for comfort, the party boy is whisked away from the lively city where he’s the social king, to the desolate Yukon wilderness where Dallas is a master of survival (and grumpiness). Living wild and isolated reveals several illuminating truths, and suddenly they both find themselves in uncharted territory where grumpy can be sexy, sarcasm might be hot, capable is definitely dangerous, and trust is the strongest survival skill of all.

Yarn usually ships within 1 week. Dyed to order yarn may take up to 2 weeks.

BRK Yak Sock-This base is totally different from your average sock yarn and it is completely great! The unique fiber blend makes a wonderfully textured and beautifully soft yarn, perfect for sweaters, socks, and all accessories. BRK Yak sock is not the typical white yarn base. The dark yak fiber blended with the creamy merino makes a richly toned color which adds great depth to the regular colorways. The bare color is a lovely gray-ish tan so any colorways dyed on this base will look a bit different than the same colorway dyed on a white yarn base. Refer to the photos in the shop to get an idea of how gorgeous this base truly is!
